Great night sleep, but woke up tired?
Have you ever woken up tired and completely drained after a good night of sleep? Or Maybe in the morning you feel energized, but by mid day are overcome with brain fog and ready for a nap? Are you craving salty or sweet foods? If this rings a bell, you may be experiencing adrenal fatigue. According to Dr. James Willson , Adrenal Fatigue is a group of related signs and symptoms that results when the adrenal glands function below the necessary level.
Adrenal glands can be triggered by chronic stress situations that make our body operate in fight or flight mode. If you have experienced a death, a bad break- up, an abusive relationship or anything that causes chronic stress for long periods of time this can cause your adrenal glands to become depleted and as a result your body experiences exhaustion. Some chronic stress triggers include: Experiencing death of a loved one, Poverty, Miserable job , unhappy marriage/relationship, dysfunctional family, Living in danger, childhood trauma.
You can have a variety of symptoms that indicate your adrenal glands are depleted. Some of the most common include feeling tired all the time, headaches, irritability and salt cravings. Check out our full list below to see all related symptoms.
